ARSENAL STADIUM MYSTERY
The novel features the actual Arsenal football team of 1939 as characters, and includes their reprinted signatures in the front. The 1939 Arsenal side is flying high after a string of wins. They appear unstopable, but the Trojans - side of amateurs who are also unbeaten in their league - may be about to topple the Gunners. At the start of the second half the whistle blows, but not for a goal or a penalty. One of the Trojans has collapsed on the pitcch. By the end of the day, he is dead. The mystery is set, and despite a lack of initial clues as to the method or the motive of the footballer's death, Superintendent Anthony Slade suspects foul play...
